However, I started on this path with my first software buy in 1988 with Illustrator'88 at $495. I've paid for every upgrade of every program that Adobe (and others) have produced. Many tens of thousands of dollars have gone to software over the last 15 years. I really believe that some sliding-scale-discount consideration should go to early adopters and steady subscribers. The idea that someone who bought Photoshop last year for the first time can purchase the CS Premium Suite at the same price as I, who has upgraded every license of every program in the suite since versions 1.0 doesn't sit right with me. (I also paid for all the stuff that Adobe dropped the balls on: Persuasion, PageMill, that RIP software, LiveMotion, and a few others that I've forgotten.
