some foolish lugger suggested that the _bride_ was the most important person
at a wedding. har har. don't know what types of weddings you've been to, but
we all know that the most important person at a wedding is the brides
_mother_. just ask her. after all, she's the one who made up the guest list
and told the bride that her old friend sally couldn't come because her
husband is ______ and decided that there would be no alcohol served and that
the food would be a choice of fillet de sole or chicken, who sat up all
night rejecting her daughters choices for wedding dresses, who insisted on
the really really ugly bridesmaids dresses that they'll never wear again,
who stayed up tirelessly thinking of old enemies she could invite to gloat
over because their daughter's didn't marry heart surgeons.... if you're
photographing a wedding, be sure to get plenty of photos of the brides
mother. and maybe a couple of the bride if there's time, but mom should
always be hugging her in those shots or standing approvingly to one side. no
photos of the groom really necessary.

ob leica: here's some leica wedding shots i've taken over the years. it's
the only thing that keeps me from falling asleep most times.
