Bummer! I was thinking it would be a good idea to sell my R4SP and keep the SL then get a R8/9, but now I need to think this over more... Or am I just getting Confused? gene Douglas Herr <telyt@earthlink.net> To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Sent by: cc: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo Subject: Re: [Leica] The amazing Leicaflex SL -alto.ca.us 01/07/2004 09:38 AM Please respond to leica-users Daniel Ridings <daniel.ridings@muspro.uio.no> wrote: > I was actually considering a SL. Yes, 2-cam and 3-cam lenses are the ones that will work with the SL, with a few exceptions. These are the lenses that require more mirror clearance, which was Minolta's influence on Leitz in the 1970s. These lenses are: 15mm Elmar-R and Elmarit-R 16mm Fisheye current 19mm Elmarit-R (first version is OK) 24mm Elmarit-R 35mm Summilux-R current 50mm Summilux-R (previous versions are OK) current 35-70 f/4 (older 35-70 f/3.5 are OK) old 80-200 f/4.5 (75-200 f/4.5 is OK, 70-210 is OK, current 80-200 f/4 is OK if you find a 3-cam version) Many of the above lenses can be used on the SL2 as long as they don't have ROM contacts. ROM lenses will not fit on any Leicaflex, SL, or SL2 but many can be retrofitted with a Leicaflex flange and cams; a few I know of are: current 50mm Summilux-R (for SL2, not Leicaflex or SL) 180mm APO-Elmarit-R 280mm f/4 APO-Telyt-R Doug Herr Birdman of Sacramento http://www.wildlightphoto.com - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
