I know people get Tri-x and do a zillion tests one way or another to prove KODAK is lying and it's really only 320 or something else all together. But these are the same people who can't shoot pictures worth crap! They make supposed "fine art exposures" which is nothing more than some kind of photographic rendering of rocks, ferns and peeling paint. But hand them a 35 mm camera and tell them to go out and shoot the world and they shit their pants because it's reality, moving and requires ASA 800 rated Tri-x. You, use it what it says on the box, asa 400 the way you shoot your situations. Don't listen to me, nor anyone else until you've made your own exposures at ASA 400, souped your own film, printed your own prints and then see what they look like. Why? Because you, it's a personal thing, expose how you read your meter or the camera sets the exposure, whatever. And if you don't quite have a negative you like, then make you're own adjustments for your own style of shooting and processing. Listening to all the people before hand who make suggestions when you don't soup the film identically as they do, nor expose as they do, you can become disappointed in a film or photography. So you blow a couple of rolls it's no big deal as long as you gain experience of oneself. Not trying to mimic others on "what you should do." ted - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
