Göteborg is Sweden's second largest city (not particularly big, makes St. Louis look like an exploding metropolis) but I can get downtown in 14 minutes. I can get to a forest preserve in less. Came down the steps yesterday and saw this in my backyard: http://folk.uio.no/danielr/images/04v04-0001.jpg http://folk.uio.no/danielr/images/04v04-0002.jpg I feed the birds ... sloppily ... I throw out seeds all over the place. Different birds tend to fight with each other, so I like to give them some space. Come summer, I find all kinds of things growing in my yard: http://www.dlridings.com/temp/e01.htm It's pretty cold here now (-18C) and that brings in the riff-raff. In the spring this one and I will be at war again. They eat up my first flowers: http://dlridings.com/temp/DSC_0008.jpg But under present (cold) conditions, we're at a truce and they eat up the seeds that the birds can't; the ones that get frozen into the snow. These guys can paw it out. Daniel - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
