Thanks for the tip; I was just about to truck over there with a CD of 
2Mb Tiffs (4x6x600, which size should have been safe for proof 
prints...)

I am printing out about 5% at 8x10 using a normal darkroom, but at the 
rate I am going it is going to be a while... hence the cheapo proofs.  
Home inkjet is too cantankerous and too expensive.

Have you tried Graphic Converter?
