A photo editor at the Oregonian once told me he believed that some day a photographer would simply go to an even and spin in a circle with a camera to get the whole scene, and the editor back at the office would simply select a photo from the captured scene. What is remarkable about that statement is that a person could become an editor at a leading publication who had such a miniscule understanding of how photojournalism - let alone photography - works.
