On the other hand, my beloved IIIc has almost as many dials and buttons on it as my D100. Both are a joy to use. The IIIc because it is a jewel of craftsmanship that is almost as old as my dad and the D100 because of what I can create with it on the fly without hassle and undue expense. In the end photography is photography. The speed of the shutter, the diameter of the aperture and the sensitivity of our light sensitive material of choice and our skill at working them all to their limits are primarily what determine what will show up in our final output. I don't think that film will ever 'die' in my lifetime (and I'm just a 36 yo kid), but digital is here to stay as a major player in imaging.
