Are all the list members hypothetical possibilities of what it might or might not be. It's the amazing versions of worries to and fro, buy not buy, wait and see, buy right away, ordered already! ;-) And will never buy! And questions beyond imagination. The next thing will be, does it come in black chrome or silver or ... some animal skin in red!;-) Our online electronic / digital professionals who really know about these things have patiently given advice and explained how certain items will, may, or may not cause difficulties of operation and lens use. And equally interesting are those who don't have a clue and sound like it'll be in their hands in a few weeks. Then there are some who've offered they'd never buy a digital M or anything else digital because, you guessed it,........... they have developer and fixer in their arteries and veins and will die using only a film based M, whatever it might be. And never will a digi cam of any make reach their eye! To those folks all I can say is..... "never is a big word of false meaning!" ;-) The only question at this moment of any concern is........... what is the Solms folks wildest possible date of store delivery? ( they wont tell you of course because they don't know yet!) ;-) That's it for the moment. All the questions pertaining to how big, how small, what chip, big or small, mirrors to bend light not reaching sensor is meaningless until.............. they announce when it'll be delivered along with it's technical specs. The rest is wasting key time when it could be far more valuable taking pictures. ;-) Hey I'm not trying to cry on yer digital Leica M parade as I'll be one of the first in line for one or two. Because I now have several months working a Digilux 1 and a Canon G5 and I am hooked big time, well OK I think digital is cool! :-) Neat part? Do a shoot return to office stick a little bitty plastic thing into another little thing and go click click and all the pictures are in yer face!!! Cool man! :-) However, for the moment lets make better use of the time with our Leica M's & R's of today and not waste time hypothesizing about some magical digital M of tomorrow, next month, next year, two years? Whenever! If ever? And by the time it gets here you'll have had another 2? 5? years of experience shooting with film, just imagine what a damn fine photographer you'll be when the digi M is in your hands. :-) That's all folks. :-) ted - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
