Sorry but I don't know how to remove it (or know how it would have got there in the first place). Regards Steve - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us] On Behalf Of Nathan Wajsman Sent: 13 February 2004 05:12 To: LUG Subject: [Leica] OT: Help, my web site has been hijacked! Yesterday, a Dutch LUGger told me that upon visiting my web site, he was offered to install a "free porn" toolbar or something like that, immediately upon arriving at the main page. I was shocked and would like first of all to inform everyone that this is NOT something I have initiated. I have since tested it myself at work and at home, and sure enough--you come to my site and look at the contents in the normal way, but in the background a download and installation program is running. My hosting service (Dot5Hosting in the UK) is being quite useless about it and claims that they see nothing. But since I am able to replicate the problem on two different computers, I can only conclude that the problem is on their end. Has something like this ever happened to you, what is the technique that the crooks used, and most importantly, what can I do to get rid of this (short of taking my site down)? Many thanks for any advice you might have.
