No, as I saw the broadcast, which Uncle Walter stated was made earlier that day. Uncle Walter wouldn't lie, would he? And the capacity for a satellite uplink was already a very small mechanical component which could easily be mounted in a deuce-and-a-half: I was trained on military equivalents a couple of years later which were substantially smaller. There was no reason to get Saigon involved. This was a huge issue at the time and there were both Congressional and FCC hearings on it. In the end, of course, nothing was done at the time.
