[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]All, Looking at actual results under controlled conditions, the Digilux II looked better at 16X20 than the Olympus E1. At 16X20 the II looked better than the 5060 or the 8080? ( 8MP Olympus P&S ) at 11X14 during the DIMA shoot out. So if image quality is why you are looking at non DSLR's then the Panasonic and Leica offerings should still be on the table of consideration. Other factors including size, ergonomics, and price of course still come into play. The digi2 wasn't tested (will be next month) but they did give the reader a comparison between the Panasonic and the Digilux 2 (the bundled software). Now, I doubt that the extra price tag will necessarily give it the edge over the Panasonic and thus the Olympus :) Daniel That > is, essentially, the point I've been trying to make since the Digi2 was > announced- Hey, gang, it's an $1800! friggin point and shoot, with a > essentially the same tiny sensor the $500-700 point and shoots have.
