That's the one issue that came up to me - for $2500, you can get a Nikon D100 and a set of good primes. The price-point on the RD-1 would have to drop quite a bit for me to see it as competitive with the DSLRs. (Or be shown to really take advantage of the 'superior' Leica glass.)
