Damn, you just can't win here in LUGdom. :-) I am trying to be slightly
circumspect, and also not be totally hypocritical, in that I bitched
about people passing opinions on the D2 without taking it through its
paces.

Given that this is apparently the same sensor - or close to it - in the
D100, I have no reason to believe that this won't be a really terrific
camera. And with the crop, all stuff about angles of dangles becomes
irrelevant. BUT I do want to see results, and read real-world reports,
before ordering. But if it is as good as it sounds as though it could
be, I will be selling two M bodies and will be ordering one of these
puppies. :-)

While what you said is true, have you seen any truly BAD image quality
from 
cameras with 6 Megapixel APS C sensors? Especially this seems to be the 
Sony one used in the Nikon D70/D100, according to the spec?

Even the skewed rays of light argument should not be a problem since
mainly 
only the center portion of the lens is used.
