There are plans to begin a "custom M camera" program in the autumn. Some call it "Leica a la carte." In a way, the LUG may share some of the credit for this as I believe the idea was tossed around right here about a year and a half ago, when people pointed out that this is what some computer manufacturers offer already. So, for example, one may be able to order an M7 with the old-style advance lever sans plastic tip. Right now there's no way to achieve that.
