Ted...

Appreciate your kind thoughts and concern. Tried to route her over to
Miami, out of the path of the storm, but she was insistent. Plus, this is
her first real hurricane. She been to hurricane parties before, but the
hurricanes never showed up to party, so she doesn't have any experience to
draw from.

As for myself, I stupidly stayed in the Outer Banks during Hurricane Charley
of 1986 (only a top speed of 70 to 76 MPH, so it was just barely a
hurricane). A mistake I'll never repeat again. The damage during and after
that storm was enough for me to swear off hurricane parties and the like.

Regards,

Mitch

G'day Mitch,
Yesterday when I read of your Mom I told my wife of her situation. Irene was
quite concerned, as being a senior herself she couldn't imagine what your
mom was going through and the trauma of maybe not having her home when it
was all over. Or worse, possibly injured.

The first comment this morning before a "good morning dear." was "check the
LUG" and see if there's any news about the lady in the Florida storm!" So
now I'll give her your good news and make her day, thanks for posting early.

And most certainly accept our good wishes that all came through safe and
sound.
