but if you're not there to take the picture, what happens to the people? the
job of the media is to be an eye for the public. if the police can scare off
photographers with threats of arrest, what happens then? year by year the
media in this country is losing access, i suppose this is a logical
continuation. they've been defanged. 

i saw a guy at that march wearing a shirt that said "the mainstream media is
only as good as the corporation that owns it". which was reinforced when a
girl about to be arrested took off her shirt and 30 photographers snapped a
photo while one said "yeah, let's all take the photo that none of our papers
will run."
