That is gdmfin' BRILLIANT!!! :-) -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Kit McChesney Sent: Friday, September 24, 2004 5:10 PM To: 'Leica Users Group' Subject: RE: [Leica] new 1ds mark II Well, I've actually been lobbying for something like this with Leica USA, even a program offering refurbished M6's to photography students. Apparently they have a couple of schools on board with educational discounts (RISD?) but they haven't gone much further than that. As pricey as new M and R cameras are, it seems that the previously enjoyed market would work better. I recently proposed that they create a foundation where people who wanted to unload older cameras for a tax break could do so, and then they could get them ready for use, and offer at very reasonable prices (whatever costs were associated with getting the cameras certified for use with a new warranty) for student/college photographers. I'd think that would be a fabulous idea. If they don't do it, I might! :) Kit -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+leicagalpal=earthlink.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+leicagalpal=earthlink.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of B. But then I was convinced five years ago that they should be offering an M body and one lens at cost to any student in a full accredited BFA program in photography. Talk about how to hook a new generation on Leica. -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Dan C Sent: Friday, September 24, 2004 4:35 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: RE: [Leica] new 1ds mark II Hey B.D....I think you're on to something here. -dan c.
