I did try Tom's RD1 and liked it a lot. It felt heavy and substantial, and the viewfinder is excellent. Even if it were a film body, I would consider it the most solidly built of the CV cameras. As a digital body, it must be giving a lot of folks in Solms grey hair. The one thing I did not like is the need to "advance" the shutter with what used to be the film advance lever. I realize that they did it to keep the form factor as close as possible to a film camera, but frankly I could have done without it. To me, this kind of pretending that the camera is something it is not constitutes a pure marketing gimmick without any value.
