But the reality is that the M7 is pretty damn close to having everything. For that matter, so does the M6 ttl. AE is nice, but at this point in the demise of film, I can't see putting money in a new film camera just to get AE. Were digital not taking over, and were we still solidly anchored in a film world, then the M7 would be a very serious temptation. -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Adam Bridge Sent: Monday, October 04, 2004 9:15 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: [Leica] Range finder cameras - what's left to improve? So we're talking about range finder cameras: the new (Zeiss) the old (M3, Nikon S) and there's an assertion that with competition Leica would have improved the M. I think that's probably right -- but what, exactly, needs to be fixed at this point? (Besides the price which is on the other side of outrageous.) Metering? Range-finder? Shutter? Flash? Weight? Materials? I'm truly serious here. If you're given a clean sheet of paper what features/improvements on current range-finder cameras are available? Issues like autofocus seem unrealistic. So what needs to be fixed? Improved? Adam _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group. See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
