The new Contax line was made by Kyocera ( Yashica ). There is a marketing
and production agreement between Zeiss and Yashica that goes back a long
time.

The article posted by Zeiss is very interesting. Only in 1 place do they
refer to the manufacturing point being Oberkochen, Germany ( 85 and 15mm
Lenses). No comment about the others or other place(s) or manufacture.
Could be Japan, could be Portugal, could be Canada, could be Solms, could be
Paris, could be Korea, could be China.

Second..... if you superimpose the Zeiss M over a Leica M7, you can see one
camera with minor cosmetic differences but a significant amount of
similarities. What is the bet that a Zeiss M is a Leica M7 that has been
through the "Configurator"? Is it possible that Leica has rebranded the M7
as a Zeiss camera?

Return to this station for more of the bizarre in the "what camera is that
one?" rumor mill.

By the way is this " New Zeiss Ikon " a partial result of the G Contax line
fizzing out? It seems to me like it's fizzed out. Has it?
