You have two choices, live it up or leave the country (a hint that you do not want to be celebrated). He took the latter route, but as friends, we wanted to do something. So we gave him two sealed envelopes to be opened on certain days during the autumn. We figured the nicest way to show our appreciation would be to all get together, fetch him, and go out to have a good time.
