Some current detriments from the 75 1.4:

    The new 50 Summilux ASPH for one.
    And when scanned we're not going to get a full frame black border shot
anyway. We're going to end up with a cropped 50. Which is what a 75 could be
thought of as.

The previous 50 Summilux non ASPH was felt to be "creaky" by a good many
buyers as the "formula" was many decades old. Although they tweaked the near
distance focusing issue some how.

The 75 1.4 is also a "creek" issue.
Someone felt it would be a shame to "ASPH" that lens.
I certainly feel the opposite.
As it could be redesigned to be smaller and work sharper closer.


Printing in the darkroom I'll almost always opt for the full neg. and print
full frame black border.

But Inkjetting I cant get the edges anyway.
This makes me much more so rethink the image. Almost like many do when
shooting a square. They turn it into a vertical or horizontal when they
print.
Well I think nothing of cropping my images to be ink jetted 30 or 40
percent.
This also applies to my "captures" with digital cameras.


I jus tread the Che Guevara shot was done with a 90 and was a horizontal cut
down to a vertical.

In the images I typically print from my "body of negs" there are about two
like that. Horizontals I make verticals from.


Landscapes I make portraits from.
