Hi Greg.... in order to do a bone marrow 
transplant one first must destroy all of the 
existing marrow and immune system... this is done 
with chemo and or radiation...then the marrow is 
replaced and in a  (real) sense the patient is 
rescued by the "transplant". So Heather is not 
unique...  she is doing well, left the ICU to the 
floor just today...thanks,  Steve
