In 1998 I picked up my new Omega Speedmaster at the Omega factory in
Switzerland. The factory is in a fenced environment with a guard at the
gate. On the grounds, besides the Omega buildings, there are Swatch
buildings. I'm not a watch aficionado, but it seems to me like Swatch must
be part of Omega. Like Leica, Omega has always enjoyed a good following.

I realize that a lot of watch nuts will make disparaging remarks about
Omega. Well, here's a lot of camera nuts that make disparaging remarks
about Leica. I read it daily here on the LUG. I could care less. I like and
use Leicas. And I like Omega watches. Especially the one I got at the
factory.
