IMO, ASPH could be good. APO is not for me if it's like the > 90 APO. Compact and light would be good, e.g. no heavier and not > much larger than the 50 ASPH. > > This lens was due to be released at Photokina, no one seems to know > what happened, and Hanns-Peter isn't answering his e-mail... > > William > I was surprised when I was pretty sure what I heard and saw (I lip read in the best of situations) was APO because ASPH would be to me more obvious. It's the ASPH tech which keeps the glass compact which the M needs to use the frame lines and that's just where there heads are at from all I can tell. APO I'd take for granted but it wasn't both. Ack Ack! I'd think that kind of stuff could change anyway. I would fully expect it to be at last as sharp as the awesome 90 APO ASPH ACRO regardless. A cross between the 90 and the new 50 ASPH. A cropped 50 shaper than a Samurai sword. My point of view. In particular. I bet Salgato switches to it in lieu of his 60 which he seems to mostly use. I know that's a stretch of a prediction....
