But, no, there is no excuse under the sun for what was described in the post in question. The guy wasn't trying to shoot the towers of the GW Bridge or the window of Don Rumsfeld's office at the Pentagon. It's bad enough that we've reached a point in this country when we can't even take photos of old buildings in the middle of Eastbejesus without being harassed; it's allot worse when we start to think that we shouldn't be upset by that, or object to it, because "the election's over folks." If we come to accept that, democracy's over, folks. End of political spiel. Back to which Summicron's the best Summicron and why some people buy equipment they really have no rational need for - wasn't that the topic earlier today? ;-) -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Mark Rabiner Sent: Sunday, November 14, 2004 6:31 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] Yet Another Sign of the Times Hey folks the election is over lets get off our soap boxes. Photography makes people nervous and cops have got to look like they are doing something. We will be suffering the aftermaths of this devastating attack for quite some time. It this were any other country we'd all be inside with the lights out every night after dinner and no dessert. The election is over folks. We've got Bush for four more years and there's not a damn thing we can do about it. Lets not be our own worst enemies and try to be on the same side the best we can. Cops are people. There is no demonic conspiracy going on. Peace Love Woodstock Mark Rabiner Photography Portland Oregon http://rabinergroup.com/ _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
