But I also made it a point to go to the places my father and I used to visit together, and the resulting pictures are snaps from some of our favourite places in and around Copenhagen. First, Str?get, the main pedestrian street. These two girls were just chilling out in the morning (the drink next to them is nothing more than chocolate milk): http://www.nathanfoto.com/paw/2004/2004_45.jpg The next two pictures are from beaches south of the city. First, Jersie Strand: http://www.nathanfoto.com/paw/2004/2004_45alt1.jpg and then Br?ndby Strand, which was actually where my father lived: http://www.nathanfoto.com/paw/2004/2004_45alt2.jpg The best place to buy fish in Copenhagen is directly from the fishermen. We used to go to Drag?r, a small fishing village near Copenhagen airport. These fishermen are horsing around a bit after having come back from the night's fishing, sold off the catch and finished the other morning tasks: http://www.nathanfoto.com/paw/2004/2004_45alt3.jpg A group of kindergarten children were visiting the harbour, and one of the fishermen showed them a small crab: http://www.nathanfoto.com/paw/2004/2004_45alt4.jpg Back in center city, on a street called Gammel Strand. This street is one of my favourites because it has two important Copenhagen landmarks: Fotografisk Center, where there is usually an interesting exhibit to see; and a beer store which has by far the best selection of microbrews and Belgian beer in Denmark. What I spotted was this non-traditional mermaid: http://www.nathanfoto.com/paw/2004/2004_45alt5.jpg Outside a suburban shopping center (Glostrup) where we often went: http://www.nathanfoto.com/paw/2004/2004_45alt6.jpg And finally, a little piece of England in the middle of Copenhagen, the Anglican Church, situated next to fortifications built in the 19th century, in what is today called Churchill Park (it is not far from the Little Mermaid): http://www.nathanfoto.com/paw/2004/2004_45alt7.jpg The complete PAW index is at: http://www.nathanfoto.com/indexpaw2004.html and comments/critique are as always welcome and appreciated.
