Had same experience with the CV brand adapters on an M2.
No such problem with the same adapters on a Hexar- I have not tried 
others and assume the Leica mount is just tighter.
The m-mount rear lens caps that came with the adapters have bumps 
on the back edge that allow it to be used as a tool to turn and remove 
the LTM adapter when the LTM lens is removed.
