Thank you very much Saludos desde Barcelona Luis Ripoll -----Mensaje original----- De: lug-bounces+luisripoll=telefonica.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+luisripoll=telefonica.net@leica-users.org]En nombre de Don Dory Enviado el: lunes, 13 de diciembre de 2004 1:21 Para: 'Leica Users Group' Asunto: RE: [Leica] Tale of the elusive 35/1.4 non ASPH......Stillsomethingto ask Luis, I had the 35 pre ASPH Summilux before I sold it to another LUGGER. Yes, you can use the behavior of your 50 Summilux as a metaphor for the 35 version. What you will find at 1.4 is that the sharp region is much smaller on the 35 and the incidence of flare is much higher at 1.4 than with the 50. By 2.8 the 35 Summilux is a very nice lens indeed with only field curvature as a flaw. Out of focus rendition is excellent and the gray scale rendered is superb. Especially if you value a certain roundness to your images instead of extreme clarity then the pre-ASPH for you. I hope this helps. I've read again all your interesting comments and tests with these lenses, and I'm thinking that my opinion could be very close as yours, why?, well, I've hesitate and read a lot of things before decide the purchase of a Summilux 50, finally I've a lovely E43 chrome second version, in despite of some critics of this lens, for my use and my photographic taste, I'm absolutely fascinated with it, principally for B&W. I obtain subtle tones and gradation as never I've obtained before, secondly the f 1,4 gives a big sense of freedom. Once I've introduced my comments I have a question for you, and of course for all other lugers, in your opinion should gives the 35/1,4 non ASPH similar or identical results, bokeh, figerprint.....? as the mentioned Summilux 50?, if yes, I'll probably start to such one... Thanks, gracias and Saludos desde Barcelona Luis -----Mensaje original----- De: lug-bounces+luisripoll=telefonica.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+luisripoll=telefonica.net@leica-users.org]En nombre de Frank Filippone Enviado el: jueves, 02 de diciembre de 2004 7:09 Para: Leica Users Group Asunto: RE: [Leica] Tale of the elusive 35/1.4 non ASPH...... I made a few typos.... the basic story is that I decided to use the 35/1.4 non-ASPH lens. It does what I need. What more can one ask?
