Dear Leica friends,
__Leica Camera Group does not catch up in the months of October and November
In a difficult market environment, the Leica Camera Group, Solms, in the
months of October and November 2004 has not reached the targeted sales
increases
as compared to the previous months. The Company also does not expect a
short-term improvement in the following months. The Solms-based camera and
optics
specialist therefore expects to close fiscal year 2004/2005 (FY end March
31)
with an operating result in the euro ?10 million range.
The current negative earnings situation does not impact the ongoing
improvements in distribution and the further development of the product
range in
sports optics as well as in analogue and digital photo products.
Details concerning the 3rd quarter (October through December 2004) will be
published at the beginning of 2005.
