Metering problems, eats batteries, now it is jammed. I wish it were still under warranty, but unfortunately it is not. My M2 never skips a beat. I was thinking of sending it to Sherry K, any other alternatives? I'm in the Midwest. If it is under warranty, I'd send it back to Leica. The takeup spool always moves in both directions, it is on a friction clutch. Is the rewind/wind lever in the front of the camera set back to the "Wind" position? If it isn't, then the spool that engages the film holes will move both directions. Looking up my M6, there is a silver "washer" that goes from 12:00 to 4:00 at the top of the film takeup spool. Is that what you see? For parts, I understand that Leica is selling parts to independent repair people, but in "reasonable" quantities. regards, Vick -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+vick.ko=sympatico.ca@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+vick.ko=sympatico.ca@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Sam Krneta Sent: Monday, December 27, 2004 2:09 PM To: 'Leica Users Group' Subject: [Leica] M7 Jammed. Trying to advance the film the lever locked (jammed) before it had completed the full range of operation. Shutter button locked. I was able to rewind the film that was in camera. The camera is metering. I looked in the take-up reel compartment and there appears to be a metal (silver) O-ring that is visible at the top of the take up reel. Is this normally visible or has it broken or slipped off the shaft? The actual take-up reel rotates in booth directions. Anyone have a similar experience? I wanted feedback before I ship it off to get repaired. The other part of the equation would be parts availability; I recall a thread about Leica not selling parts to independent dealers. Does this mean it must go to Leica? Thanks, Sam _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group. See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
