Subject: [Leica] Hasselblad XPan II Scanning Question

The HP S20xi is a USB scanner and in all the ads I saw, it seemed to be a
Windows device, MAC was never mentioned so not sure what it work on. It
scans 35 mm film strips and slides at 2400 optical dpi and photos at 300
optical dpi and is 36-bit.
I have one and will make the same offer, if you have a junk negative I'll be
glad to scan it and see how it handles it.

The HP S20 film scanner is a popular/cheap choice, from what I
understand. But it's SCSI-only and not supported at all under OS X. The
Coolscan V has a comes with a film-strip feeder for negatives, so
there's no need to cut up a film holder. But I don't know how the
software would work with long negatives.

(If anyone with a junk X-pan negative wants a first-hand report on how
it works with the Coolscan, e-mail me.)
