If by "preview" you mean seeing the image prior to shooting, NONE of
them include it.

Not to be the contrarian, but I think the reason for inclusion is
deceptively simple: To not include it would eliminate the competitive
part of the market that has the feature. Are there any DSLRs at/near the
proposed Leica feature-price point that don't incorporate LCD screen
preview?

Well, Steve's friend B. D. isn't going to say anything cynical.
But....:-)...I will say that the preview function strikes me as a bit,
well, silly on a serious digital camera - which this would be. Don't
forget we're talking manual focus, where the p&ses are all auto focus
with manual override...Trying to seriously focus the image on the little
t.v. screen would be a bit nuts. I find with the DSLR's I don't in
anyway miss having the t.v. screen function of the p&ses, and can't see
why Leica would waste it's time to incorporate this into a digital M. If
you're doing studio, portrait, etc. work, you can take the shot and
preview it...if you're doing photojournalism, street shooting etc., you
don't want to waste the time screwing around. At least that's my take on
it...

Hi Karen.... exciting, yes ...but it seems a bit
early to be talking details.... I know I sound
like my friend BD, but he is usually right on the
button....... are you sure they are not just
putting it out there ?.... ie running it up the
flagpole, to see if anyone will salute....just to
get their toe in the door?

It seems not likely that right now they have much
more than their toe in the door....

or maybe it is an April fool's joke....

Hmmmmm....

Steve
