Yup, the difference between .7 and 1 meter is sometimes a really important one. Regarding June 5th, I'll likely be at Central Camera at some point during the afternoon. Also, it just so happens that we have a great Mexican restaurant here in Chicago (Topolobampo/Frontera Grill) where my wife and I have been going on a weekly basis for the past several years; we could likely arrange reservations if they seem hard to get. In fact, this is the very restaurant that was in my mind when bringing up this close focus/dining shots business. It also has some of the most challenging available-light shooting conditions I know.
