When I had the CLs I used Rollei flashes, E15B and E19B with it. No swivel- 
although you could get a shoe that tilts and swivels, I
suppose - and no thyristors for the auto flash, but the Rollei's looks 
matched the CL very well.

Some of the Minolta pre-AF generation flashes were quite small and tilted 
too.
