It suggests two things to me: One, the new $2.5K 50 does not hold up well when compared to the 50 1.4; two, the 35 1.4, which for many of us can serve very well as a "normal" lens, is still far and a way the best fast Leica lens. Also keep in mind his saying that there are 2 stops of vignetting at f 1.4, as well as what he I believe termed "visible" distortion. And all of this is coming from someone who is paid by Leica to write about its lenses. ;-) -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Dan C Sent: Monday, June 21, 2004 8:13 AM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] Erwin on the new M-50/1.4 ASPH Normally I would agree with you, but Puts usually doesn't bring up the point of Bokeh in his reviews; for him to actually come out and make a negative comment about it must mean something. I mean, we're talking about Puts saying something bad about Leica! -dan c. At 08:32 PM 20-06-04 -0700, Mark Rabiner wrote: > [snip] >I bet the Bokeh is not so bad.
