Harrumph!

The author's maths is a little wobbly. Since when do "busy pro
photographers" pay their film and processing costs out of their
_own_ pocket?

It is always billed to the client with a mark-up thankyou :?)

Okay, the counter argument runs: "What's the problem? You
can now bill them for your 'digital processing costs'."

Unfortunately this is mostly not the case. Check out the Editorial
Photographers mailing list and note the number of photog's
complaining about being squeezed on digital fees (when formerly
clients had no problems paying premium $s for film + processing).

There are lots of good reasons for working pros to adopt digital,
but pocketing savings on film development ain't one of them :?)
