Subject: [Leica] decline in LUG membership

Someone was offering an M6 in good condition - w/ box etc.! - for $850 on
Friday. Now THAT indicates prices have not only headed south; they've moved
to Terra Del Fuego!

Is there any correlation between Leica sales and list membership? Or the
value of used Leica equipment this year versus last year?

In the past few months we've seen a number of nearly-new M7s offered for
sale, as their owners switch to digital. I can understand a decline when
the list images are increasingly coming from digital Nikons and Canons.

For the first time in 8 years, the number of subscribers to the LUG has
fallen below 1000. Not sure what this means. You all have been doing a good
job of keeping political rants off the LUG, and we've never had a problem
with religious rants there.
