RIGHT! I'll bet we see it in the images from today's 200M backstroke
coverage where Peirsol was DQ'd after appearing to have won. Someone
who knew what was going on would have noticed the judges confiring in
Piersol's lane and tracked him afterwards - esp when the times weren't
posted immediately. If there are photos of Perisol's amazement and
dejection in the moments after that then you'll know who was either on
top of things or simply lucky.

THAT"S what knowing the event and how things work is all about.
Situational awareness. I'm sure the folks who cover the pols have the
same sort of  instincts: "Something ain't right" and they'd be all
over it.
