The May/June issue. ON page 10 is a picture of a women heavily packed up and with two Leicas around her neck. It's in color and appears to be under "magic or golden light" (the sun is setting or going up) but there's a motion effect. "She was a tiny girl from France who was just 21 when, in 1966, she set out for Vietnam with a Leica. By the time she left that country several years later, CATHERINE LEROY was considered one of the greatest war photographers in a conflict that was documented by the finest journalists in the world." She looks like a movie star. I've never heard of her. She went on from that war to other conflicts and other things. But it all kept coming back to Viet Nam it said. There's a book coming out with essays and photos on that conflict with her shots in it as well as the other greats who were there.
