Good for investors and the banks maybe. Perhaps the soul of Leica is now in their optical design group. Leica's prowess in camera and imaging technology areas long since faded. There was a spark of ingenuity in the development of the R line, but innovation in the M line hasn't been there since the days of the M5. A Japanese design team could pack immense functionality, quality and value into the volume occupied by a classical M.
