The digital M is still scheduled for Photokina 2006, but considering the 9-months delay of the DMR (announced for Photokina 2004, in the shops June 2005), dont expect it before mid 2007, or even later. It's said to have the same sensor as the DMR, with a 1.37 crop factor, but things might change in two years. It will be a entire camera body, not a back like the DMR. Cannot confirm that it will be called "MD". I doubt it because there already was a Model Leica MD in the early sixties - a M3 (or M1) without range/viewfinder, for microscopes and repoduction photography. There was a MDa and MD-2, too. But maybe Leica "DM"? or "MX"? What about a LUG bet for the digital M's name?:-) The winner gets one... Didier >I have been off the Lug for some time and have not kept up with the latest >Leica news.
