It will probably take me a while to realize that after 30 years of R shooting I now have to pay attention to the frame lines and not rely on WYSIWYG. On the other hand it is nice to see what is just outside of the image. Most importantly is that the frame is as bright as ever and I can now focus again (I always had a hard time with the LeiCanon: a. it was too small, and b. there was no split image/fresnel focusing screen). Never thought I would see the day. Honestly, congratulations. Do post some examples and tell us how easy or not easy it is to use. I will interested in knowing how, as a practical matter, your photography changes as a result of the reduced field of view due to the sensor size. ----- Original Message ----- From: Bill Sent: Tuesday, July 05, 2005 2:06 PM To: 'Leica Users Group' Subject: [Leica] The DMR is here in Denver In January of 1998 (30 years after the purchase of my first LeicaFlex), when I purchased my R8, I noticed the contact points in the body and asked their purpose. The salesman told me that it was for the possibility of a digital back. I knew then that today would come - and it is here! It is not vaporware. It is real. The DMR is on my R8. I'll post samples as soon as I can. Bill in Denver. _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
