I've also done the drive a few times. I was in
graduate school in Anchorage. It's a fantastic drive
as soon as you  cross the border from Washinton into
BC. I've always done it in the summer with no car
problems. However, I did run out of film on my first
trip.  Post some photos if you get a chance!
