Here are some of the reported frequencies of attack, according to a 2002 report by a wildlife group. (These are for North America): Wolves: 30 attacks and 2 deaths in 100 years Black bears: 25 attacks annually; 1 death every 3 yrs Domestic dog: 1 million bites/yr; 16-18 deaths result Mountain lion: 43 attacks and 8 deaths from 1981-2000 Venomous snakes: 8,000 bites in the US annually; ~ 10 deaths (I read this somewhere else) and most dangerous of all: Deer: 200 deaths and 26,000 injuries annually from collisions (Albuquerque Journal, July 5, 2005)
