I was born and raised in Gates County (Hobbsville) and moved to Washington in 1979 after a few years ripening in Chapel Hill. Found my wife in Washington and had our kids here. We live in Garner now, but keep our home on Tranters Creek. The girls are spending the summer here (damn teachers' luck) and I'm down for a week of vacation. I know Pamlico Beach very well, probably my favorite view of the Intracoastal Waterway and one of my favorite country fishing ports. Where in Martin County? I love to eat herring in Jamesville every spring.
