Apparently silver scans are always 'horribly contrasty'! Despite several of us saying that this wasn't the case and producing evidence to the contrary he would only modify his opinion from 'all scanners are rubbish' to 'most scanners are rubbish'. An educated chap - he had a PhD - but a very closed mind. Yes, again, definitely. All my recent B&W show prints that have sold have been scanned from 35mm or 120 negatives, processed in Photoshop, and printed on either an Epson 1280 or R800. Ken -- The Rev.
