An overdose of catnip? part of the setup (not pictured) is the off camera assistant or "kitten wrangler" whose job it is to constantly pick up the kitten and turn him face-towards-camera, the kittens will play like this and have a swell time for about 12 minutes. after which they seem to get tired (yes, the kittens get tired) and they just sit still. every time the cat is facing you and the wrangler's hands are clear, you fire a shot. the wrangler will also use a piece of dangling string to keep the kitten's attention lensward. hope this helps.
