Most likely Eastern Bluebird (Sialia sialis).  See

Depending on where Dennis lives, it could also be Western Bluebird (Sialia

Hey Dennis--

I think you have a young bluebird. If you are in the Eastern US, an  
eastern bluebird. If you are elsewhere, it is likely a kinsman of the  
bluebird. They are related to the thrushes.

The spotting you see around its neck points to a first year bird who  
is getting his adult plumage. But the overall dull color, with red on  
its belly and with the blue back, may make it just a drab adult  
getting his annual new feathers.
